The Govftrnment meteoralonlst issued the following weather report and forecast last niffht: — General situation: The cyclone to the north is now centred east of Cape Maria, but is slowly filling up; pressure is still rather low in the western Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds south-easterly to north-easterly prevailing north of Westport and Akaroa, light to moderate mainly, but freshening at times in exposed positions; otherwjse variable winds. Weather: Rather scattered rain in the Auckland Province and mists with some drizzle along the East Coast; otherwise fine and warm. Following are the barometer maximupi and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tpurist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
