The county chairman, Mr. H. P. Ford and Crs. Martin and Keith have been appointed to represent the Rotorua County Council in a conferenee with the Public Works Department, Rotorua Borough Council and Taupo Road Board to discuss any alteration in the allocation of heavy traffie fees in connection with the Taupo County Council. Mr. L. J. Perry, of London, Mrs. W. G Dye and Miss Barbara Dye, of Los Angeles, are among those at the Grand Hotel. Mr. L. Mitchell, of Auckland, Mrs. S. Halfp-enny, of Cheshire, England, and the Misses N. and K. Butler, of Waipawa, H.B., are staying at Brent's Bathgate House. Mr. R. ,W. Taylor, of London, and the Rev. A. Russell-Allerton, of Auckland, are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Lawson-Field and child, of Gisborne, and Miss D. Williams, of Auckland, are among those staying at Brent's Bathgate House. Mr. S. Powell, of Australia, and Mr and Mrs. Rene Nabisch, of Havelock North, are staying at the Grand Hotel. Cr. G. J. Ford who has been returned to the Rotorua County Council in place of the late Cr. Walter Steele, was yesterday welcomed to the table on taldng his seat by the chairman, Mr. H. P. Ford. The occasion was rendered rather unusual by the fact that the chairman and the new councillor are brothers and it fell to the chairman' s lot to give the usual instruction to the new member.
