LONELIEST MEN
AIRPLANE SERVICE TO FEED ARCTIC CIRCLE TRADERS. The Iludson's Bay Company, one of the oldest of trading companies, is taking steps to keep some of the world's loniest men in touch with civilisation. Its trappers spend the winter in the faraway Arctic regions many of them three- or four weeks' journey from the 'nearest post at which supplies can be ohtained. Now an airplane 'service has been instituted to care for these lonely men. In the past they have come into contact with civilisation often only once a year during their annual visits to the company's trading posts, and supplies have been taken to them during the summer hy trading ships. Now they will be within three days' journey of the great cities of Canada, from which the 800 horsepower airplanes will set out, bearing mails and newspapers, food and clothing.
