PRICES IMPROVE AT MORRINSVILLE SALE
The Farmers' Auctioneering Co. report: — At our Morrinsville sale on January 6, a good yarding of sheep and a medium yarding cattle came forward. Fat hoggets and ewes were keenly sought after, and increased prices resulted. A line of store wethers ex the East Coast were offered, but were passed in at auction. However, they were all cleared afterwards at satisfactory prices. Cattle. — A medium yarding comprising mostly of second quality ox beef, which remained firm at late rates. Cow beef improved slightly on ruling values. Pigs. — A full yarding of pigs came forward, comprising mostly stores
and porkers. Late rates were maintained for all fat pigs, but stores and weaners showed a tendency to ease. No prime heavy baconers were yarded.
