The Godwit Season The godwit shooting season in the Tauranga Acclimatisation Society's district opened on Monday. Arrested for Drunkenness ■Arrested by Constable Kelly on Saturday afternoon at Lake House Hotel, a man is to be brought before the court this morning charged with drunkenness and also with a breach of his prohibition order. Sensational Motor Smash A sensational motor. smash oecurred on the concrete streteh of roadway between Ellerslie and Panmure at 1.30 on Saturday aftenoon, when serious injuries were received by a Chinese, Lin Gin, aged about 25, the driver of a motor lorry. A Big Dredge A big pontoon dredge built for the Matakitaki Gold Dredging Company is to be launched in the water in the adjoining excavation at Murchison in about a month's time, and is expected to be ready to commence operations in the main river some three months ] later.
