The film marks the first appearance on the screen of Miss Perry, who first received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the Southern girl in the original stage version of "Strictly Dishonourable." The story of "New Morals for Old" deals with the age-old struggle between old-fashioned parents and modern children. Hampered by constant restrictions and supervision at home, a brothef and sister resolve to lead their own lives, defying conventions and the wishes of parents who re.fuse to understand. The son longs for a career as a painter and thumbs his nose at his father's wallpaper business. The daughter falls in love with a married man and scorns puritan inhibitions. The result is both leave home, ohe for a vivid life. in the Bohemian quarter of Paris, the other for her clandestine romance. Both expenences result in dramatic climaxes of a spectacular nature.
