NEWCASTLE POLICE MENACED BY GROWD IN BETTING RAID FIERCE TUSSLE ENSUES . Newcastlei, Sat. Seeing Sergeant Hungerford being menaced by a group of angry men, Constahle Ashton was forced to draw his revolver on them at Broadmeadow ( this after'ndon. The affair developed from a starting pfidh hetting raid which resultea in a fierde tussle between thd police and some men. Three arrests have been made and more are expected within the next 24 hours.
