Auckland, Tuesday. A platinum wristlet watch, studded with diamonds, and valued at 1500 dollars, was lost in Queen Street this afternoon by Mrs. Dorothy Abel, a through cabin passenger from America to Sydney on the Mariposa, whicb arrived from Los Angees this morning. Mrs. Abel came ashore about 2 o'clock and when leaving the wharf entrance gate, noticed the time by the watch and a few minutes later at the corner of Customs Street, the watch was missing from her wrist. After retracing her steps to the Mariposa, Mrs. Abel reported her loss to the police. The watch? had not been recovered when the vessel sailed this evening.
