HEAVY DAMAGE REPORTED TO ISLAND BANANA CROP Apia, Samoa, Jan. 3. Rec. Jan. 3, 9.50 -p.irr. There bas been a storm gale, high seas and heavy rain during the last 24 hours. It is still blowing hard and the barometer is low. The water supply is temporarily out of commission. The banana crop will probably be damaged considerably. There are no reports as to any serious loss otherwise.
