The Gowrnment meteorolonlst Issued the following weather report and forecast last niffht: — General situation: The depression has moved away-from New Zealand and an anti-cyclone of slight intensity is advancing across the Tasman Sea; a tropical cyclone is centred near Niue. Forecast: Winds westerly to southerly, strong in places, but mainly light to moderate. Weather: Some isolated local showers, but mainiy fine; temperatures cool, but rising to-morrow. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermo'meter, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.. Barometer 29.776ins. Thermometer (max.) 76.3deg. Thermometer (min.) 61.7deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 56.3deg. Rainfall Traces Bright Sunshine .... 6,9hrs.
