■The Government meteoroloplst issued the following weather report and foreoast last niyht: — - - ■ General situation: A slight depression passed southward during Thursday night and a weak anti-oyclone appears to have developed over the ' Tasman Sea; pressure, however, has fallen over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds variabie and northerly at first about Cook . .Strait; otherwise light to moderate ^outherIies prevaiiing, but winds becoming northeriy again shortly. Weather: For the most part fair to clotidy, but some isolated showers prohable, more especially .in the far north and eastern districts; temperatures cool to-night, but sultry conditions setting in again to-morrow. Following are the' barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sun^ shine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta> tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
