The Govftrnment meteorofofdst tssued the following weather report and fprecast last night: — General situation: A slight qrjticyclone moved on to the South Island torday while a shallow depression has been crossing northern New Zealand. Forecast: Wfnds moderate to fresh south -^.asterlies to southerlies veering to northerlies aga'rn to-morrow in and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Duil and misty at fjrst from Cook Strait northward with scat- • tered rain, chiefly along the East Coast, but improving elsewhere; temperatures cool, but becoming warmer again to-morrow. Following are t'he barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tou'rist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
