NEGLECTED CHARM
QVERSEA.
(To the Editor). Sir, — It seems a great pity that more eare is not taken of the eharming beauty spots around Rotorua whieh at one time were such an attraction to all visitors. After several years absence one party went to visit 1 Hamurana Springs, perhaps one of the most interesting spots a few years ago, and found it neglected and changed. The river is covered with weed and the spring silted up. There. were no fish and yet we wexe charged sixpence as if there was still something to see. In place of the boat we were taken by car and even then not told of the eonditions. Fortunately, my friends saw the Fairy Springs and the fish whieh compensated a good deal. There are other places you will know better than I and I was wondering what the public men were doing here hy being so neglectful of the charm and attraction wliich should always be placed before sport; helpful as that branch may be. Could not some relief work be used in that direction and I am sure it will be reproductive to Rtorua.4 — T am. ete.
