MATAMATA SALE SHOWS STEADY DEMAND AT RECENT VALUES The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering ^0., Ltd. report: — At our fortnig'htly stock sale in the Matamata saleyards cattle and sheep were yarded in good numbers. Competition was steady at recent market values and a total clearance was effected. There was a very heavy yarding of fat pigs, comprised mainly of baconers. Values for all fats were firm at Frankton rates, porkers and light baconers bcing the most keenly sought after. Not many stores and weaners were yarded but all good quality pigs sold under good eompetition. Quotations: — Sheep: Prime shorn hoggets, 9s to 11s; fat ewes, 4s 6d to 4s lOd; fat lambs 9s to 10s; forward cond. lambs 7s to 7s 6d; good store lambs, 5s 6d to 6d; cull lambs, 2s to 3s ld; medium fat steers to £3 17s 6d; killable steers to £2 7s 6d; beavy fat cows £2 Is to £2 10s; medium fat cows) 30s to £2; m'edium fat heifers 32s 6d to £2 5s; light fat cows 25s to 30s; killable cows, 20s to 25s; boner cows '10s to 18s. Pigs: Heavy baconers 38s to 39s; medium 35s to 37s; light- baconers 3-ls to 34s; heavy porkers 28s to 30s; medium porkers, 25-s to 27s; light and unfinished porkers i9s 6d to 24s; stores, 17s to 19s; slips 11s to 15s; weaners 6s 6d to 10s.
