The Govp,rnment meteorolonlst Issued the following weather report and forecast last nijht: — General situation: The ant!-cy-clone located east of New Zealand has itensified, while the depression over the Tasman Sea has been gradually filling up. , Forecast: Winds moderate to strong easterlies to northerlies, but with a southerly change setting i'n during Friday night or Saturday. Weather: Further scattered rain in the eastern and far northern districts of the North Island; elsewhere fair to cloudy at first, but later rain becoming more widespread; warm temperatures. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.045ins. Thermometer (max.) 73.5deg. Thermometer (min.) 52.6deg. Rainfall .... Nil Bright Sunshine 5.6hrs.
