The Govf\rnment meteorolofilst issued the following weather repart and forecast last nijht: — General situation: An anti-cyclone has moved o'n to New Zealand with its centre over the southern portion; pressure is low over the greater part of Australia. There are indications of a cyclone having developed over the western portion of the Tasman Sea. t Forecast: Winds moderate southerlies to south-easterlies, backing shortly to eastern, becoming strong in places. Weather: Mainly fair to cloudy with some scattered showers i'n eastern districts, especially between Kaikoura _and East Cape; later rain developing in northern districts. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.947ins. Thermometer (max.) 73.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 53.8deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 5.7hrs.
