WEDDING

LORRIE— LOONEY A dainty wedding was solemnised by the Rev. D. McDairmid at St. John's Cliurch on Wednesday morning, when Marjorie Rosana Loonay, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Looney, of Waiotahi, ivas married to Andrew Rohert Lorrie, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lorrie, of Gisborne. The chureh was tastefully decorated with bowls of Christmas lilies, while carnations tied ivith white ribbon were fastened to each pew. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a frock of shell pink georgetta and lace with a full flared ankle length skirt. Her veil was of pink tulle surmounted by a coronet fastening of orange blossom. Stylish pink shoes and a bouquet of pate carnations • and sweetpeas, toned p-leas-ingly ivith the frock. The two bridesmaids, Miss Winnie Looney, sister of the bride, and Miss M. Lorrie, sister of the bridegroom, wore deep blue georgette frocks, with tightfitting bodices and full flared skirts, which were relieved by three wide frills at the bottom. Their hats were of blue straw trimmed Avith deeper blue ribbon, and their shoes were of blue satin. The bridesmaids carried posies of hydrangeas and lemon roses. Messrs P. Looney and H. G. Simpson acted as groomsmen. Mr. C. J. Fleming (Hinuera) was organist". The Hon, J. B. Gow received the guests at the church door.
