WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
OTARA MEETING A well attended meeting of ihe Otara Women's Institute presided over hy Mrs. Morrice was held yesterday in the plcasant gardens of Mrs. R. Hedley. After matters of business were dealt with, Mrs. D. Russell sang "Killarney" the accompaniment being played hy Mrs. J. H. Lee. A competition arranged hy Mrs. R. Reid and won hy Mrs. Alison caused much amusement and also did a Roll Call of children's humorous sayings. A dainty afternoon tea served by Mesdames W. Gault, J. H. Lee and A. Vanstone was followed by an amusing sketch hy Mrs. S. White and an instructive demonstration of woolwork embroidery by Mrs. S. Abbot. A saies table was in charge of Mrs. Skipper. A Christmas Gift of money was voted to a needy ex- Otara patient in the Hamilton Hospital. A very happy meeting wras brought to a clnse hy the singing of the National Anthem with Mrs. McDonald at the piano. Votes of thanks to the hostesses were passed.
