As the result of representations made by the secretary of the- Rotorua Unemployment Committee (Mr. W. A. McLean) to the Unemployment Board pointing out that on account of the ordinary stand-down week in the district falling within the period for which the board had decided to make a distribution of two weeks Christmas pay to relief workers, the local workers would not be entitled to the full two weeks pay, the board has consented to the stand-down week ' bbiiig held next week and- will authorise the payment of two, weeks' pay to relief workers on'pecember 24.
