THE MAYOR SAYS COUNCIL IS DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE A letter was received from the chairmaii of directors of Rotorua Ait- * ways, Ltd., hy the Rotorua Boroiigh Council last night asking that the council see its way elear to put the finishing touches to the aerodrome before Christmas. In discussing the matter the Maybr Mr. T. Jackson, said the finances of the council would not permit df mor'e being done than had already been put in hand. The council had spent coiisiderably more than it had received in rent. A landing ground in Rotorua was essential but he resented the continual pin priclcs which were adrministered. The council was doing its best to make the ground as good as possible.. The landing circle was being marked out in white clay. The matter was referred to the parks and reserves committee.
