PROMINENT OFFICIAL'S DEAD BODY FOUND

Palmerston N., Wednesday. A tragic discovery was made at the Awapuni racecourse this morning when the body of Victor Thomas Dibble, accountant iand isecretary of the Manawatu' Racing Club, was found in some trees near the main stand, the cause of death heing a shot from a revolver. The weapon was found; near by. It contained two empty shells, the other chambers being loaded. While in Palmerston North deceased had been very popular. He was conneeted with the Citizens' Show Committee, the Rotary Cluh, and the local branch of the Red Cross Society. He had been in ill health for some time.
