Christchurch, W ednesday. A Chinese market gardener, Wei Chung, aged 31 years, was fined £40 in the Magistrate's Court to-day, for being in possession of utensils for use in smoking opium. The evidence was that many Chinese visited defendant's house for smoking opium.
