The Govfirnment meteorolofllst Issued the following weather report and forecast last nigdit; — General situdtion: A westerly depression is crossing New Zeala'nd, but pressure is still rather high to the north, and a fresh anti-cyclone has passed Tasmariia. Forecast: |V/inds northerlies to westerly at first moderate to strong generally, but in places of gale force, batrking temporarily to south-west-erly in most places during the next 24 hours. Weather: Rather unsettled ge'nerally, some rain likely in districts with a westerly aspect and on h'igh coun„ try,' showers extending later to all parts of eastern districts, but mainly in the South Island; temperatures rather c'ooler to-morrow. Following are the barometer, rnaximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua'Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer .... 30.108ins. Thermometer (max.) 76.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 50.8deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 41.8deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 12.8hrs.
