GRAND THEATRE
TO-NIGHT. Walmer Oland, in a role made to order for the man who created a 'sensation as "Fu Manehu," is now at the Grand Theatre, with June ,Coillyer and Lloyd Hughes in the picturisation of "The Drums of Jeopardy." This is a Harold MacGrath' thrill story, in which Oland plays a vengeful chemist. His daughter has killed her self because she was betrayed hy one of the Petroffs. As she dies with the secret of which one betrayed her, her father threatens all the Peti*offs with death. The ruby-studded drums that hung on a necklace that once belonged to the Petroffs he uses a,s an omen of death. One by one he takes them off and sends them to the next Petroff to fall a victim of his mad vengeance. Russia just before the revolution, and then America sorne yeai*s later, supply the locale for the story. Lloyd Hughes plays the role of the youngest of the Petroffs, and June Collyer is an American girl with whom he falls in love, and who share.3 many of the dangers that hefall hina at the hands of the frenzied chemist.
