The Govfitnment meteorolonlst lssued the following v/eather report and forecast last niffht: — General Situation: A moderate anticyclone is moving on to northern New Zealand; a fresh depression is passI ing Tasmania and affecting the southern districts to-motrow. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong southerlies, north cif Greymouth and Kaikoura; eisewhere northerlies to north-westerlies, and later becoming general. Weather: Fair to fine generally at first; cool temperatures and unsettled conditiods deveioping to-morrow in the western and far southern dis- . tricts of the South Island; temperatures' also rising. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 holirs ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. > Barometer 29.849ins. Thermometer (max.) 64.2deg. Thermometer (min.) 47.0deg. Therpnometer (min. on grass( 36.3deg. Rainfall .... O.OSins. Bright Sunshine 5.1hrs.
