MAJESTIC THEATRE
TO-DAY AND TO-NIGHT. Frederic March, in the title role of Paramount's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," drinks a mystical concoction many times during the progress of the play, as hy so doing ihe causes the startling transformation from the beloved Dr. Jekyll to the hideous Hyde and the reverse transformations. Science was. enlisted hy Director Mamoulian to devise a potion that when mixed during the pi'ogress of the action would have an appearance , that would add to the dramatic ef- ; fects of the scenes. j A mixture was devised and used i hy March in those transformation ! .scenes, which in the process of concoc- ; tion has a startling action and appearance. As the ingredients are i mixed, it huhhles, then fumes, smokes, changes to red and green, then goes totally black and finally hecomes | transparent. In spite of its action it ' is harmless and nearly tasteless.
