UNUSUAL ACCIDENT
WOMAN STRUCK BY RUBBER FROM A BURST TYRE Auckland, Wednesday. A singular accident to-day resulted in injuries to an elderly woman, Mrs. Catherine Blair, of Mount Eden, who was admitted to the Auckland IIospital. Mrs. Blair, who is 70 years of age, was walking along the footpath when the tyre of a passing motor car burst and a large piece of rubber hurtled through the air and struck Mrs. Blair knocking her to the ground. The full extent of her injuries is not known, but it is believed that she may have received a fractured pelvis. Her condition to-night was not serious.
