This Week's Free Lance

An aeroplane flight to celebrate hcr 99th birthday and to set the ball rolling for the Hasting's Carnival was the experience of Mrs. Mary Ann Adamson last week. Photographs of the old lady taking off for lier flight and being crowned Queen of the Carnival by the Mayor 'of Hastings, Mr." G. F. Roach, are featured in the eurrent issue of the New Zealand Free Lance. All the fun and gaiety of the carnival is presented in the pictorial section of this issue, which devotes three pages to the event. The dedication of the new Nelson Cathedral is an other important event to which promineneo is given. Wellington's "Happiness Week" celebration, including the crowning of the winning queen is anotlier big feature.
