THE WEATHER
The Government meteoroloplst tssued the follovying weather report and forecast last niffht": — General sitiiation: A weak anti-cyc-lone has been passing to the north, while a deqp depression passed off Austraiia on to the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds variable, but northerljes soon prevailing a'nd freshening; a change to southerly probable in the far south to-morrow and later extending northward. Weather: Mainly fair at first with rising temperatures, but soon becomiTTg ynsettled in western districts with rain developing; fairly general rain probable within the next 24 to 36 hours. Foilowing are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.797ins. Thermometer (max.) 67.7deg. Thermometer (min.) 46.1deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 3S.5deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 13.0hrs.
