SUNDAY TEA
ANNUAL GATHERING OF CHILDREN AT WOODLANDS The Woodlands' Sunday School children and a large number or parents and friends spent a very happy evening on Friday in the Woodlands' Hall, the occasion being the annual Sunday school tea and orize-givirig. . After tea, the children gave an exxtertaining- programme of concert. items. The chairman, the Rev. N- McDiar■;id ihen presented the prizes to the iuldren and thanked all those who hau helped to make the evening a ..uccess and espeeially Mrs. J. Barbour for her unsparing efforts in a-aining the children for their perlormances and Mr. M. McKillop who ixad also Jaeen a most enthusiastic wox-ker. The evening concluded with supper which was treated with the justice comxnonly accorded this function by the young fry. The concert programme was as follows: — Anthern, Sunday school children, "Our Festive Day so Bright"; recitation, Mervyn Hollard, "Nowr School Play Up!"; pianoforte solo, Celelie Arxnstrong; recitation, Jean Maxwell; solo, Miss Saxxipson; recitation, Bertha Reid; pianoforte solo, Davina Connelly; duet, Bertha Reid and Connie Barbour; anthem, Sunday school children, "Behold the Army of our Sunday School"; pianoforte solo, Effie Semple; recitation, 'Vespers," Barbara Beattie; recitalion, Nola Sargent; song "Harp Flowers," (chorus) Phyliss Joblin, Lorna Reid, Jean McGregor, Pauline Beav:r, Peggy Price; recitation, Percy Ruxxible; song, Mrs. C. Fleming; recitation, Iilsie Joblin; song, John Vanstone; recitation, John Rumble; pianoforte solo, Rita Baird; recitation, Peggy Beattie; solo, Lyndsay Steele; recitation, Elsie Baxter; recitation, David Beattie; dialogue, Phyliss Joblin, Jean McGregor, Peggy Price, Lorna Reid; "Wanted a General Servant."
