Capetown, Decembex* 1. Charles Ross was found guilty of shooting Margaret K'ppie outside Waireke and was sentenced to death. A further charge of murdertng Winifred Stevenson was not proceded with. Ross, who is a game-himter's son, told ihe gaoler that the day before fhe tra geet'y he shot eight zehra, and covered Iiimself v/ith blood. He ccolly described how he invited the women to a cinema, and then drove them into the bush, where he shot them in the head. His mother stated that accused's father had an ungovernable temper, and' shot prisoners in the Boer War v/ithout mercy.
