HIGH SCHOOL B IMPROVE IN MATCH AGAINST ALBION HARDING'S CENTURY FOR CITY City opened the mateh against Ngongotaha at the Government Ground on Saturday by sending Harding and Davis to the crease and both opened confidently against Beaumont and Ellis. Boundaries were hard to secure, but 25 runs had been scored before Davis was bowled by Beaumont for 10 runs. A prolific partnership then commenced between Harding and Godsalve, which produced 83 runs before a doubtful decision lost Godsalve his wiclcet leg before after scoring a confident 43 runs. Harding carried on steadily and was mainly responsible for carrying the total to 199, when the last man, Mulligan, was bowled by Emerali. Harding carried his bat, which is New Zealand made, for 109 runs, and will, therefore, be presented with another bat by the makers. No score had been registered by Ngongotaha when Harris was splendidly caught in the slips by Harding off Reed, who also captured a further three in rapid succession. Blomfield made a good stand for 26 runs and was ably assisted by N. Craig who was 16 when bowled by Harding- The fielding of the City side was very keen and boundaries were few. At stumps, Ngongotaha had 67 runs on tho board for the loss of six wickets. Reed's figures were four wickets for 29 off 11 overs.
