J. Holyoake, the Coalition nominee. particularly in the rural districts. The Hon. Roderick McKenzie, who h-ld the seat for many years as. a Liberal end is now standing as an InV- ^nd ^ L"'; -"val-Labour candidate, w li be a nogr third, his candidaturq , "> taken seriously. Strenuous efforts are heing made by the Labour party tp capture i|be seat. Mr. Webb has had the' assmtance of the leader of the Parliamentary Lahour party, Mr. Holland, and of Messrs Lee, Fraser, Semple and Jordan, while Mr. McGombs will participate in the campaign next week. Mr. Holyoake also has had the help of experienced campaigners in Messrs Polson, Hai'ris and J- N. Massey, and next week Messrs Endean and Bodkin will be in the eleetorate.
