"NO STATEMENT"
THE ASSOCIATED BANKS Wellington, Friday. Following a meetmg of the Bank of New Zealand directors, a meeting of the Associated Banks was held. Iffie chairman, Mr. J- T. Grose, at the conclusion said there was no aniiotihcemerit to make. It is understood that the Bank of New Zealand directors decided by five votes i to one against increasing the rate of exchange. It is believed that in the course of a four hour deliberatio'n, the directors discussed the geheral financial qpndition of the couhtfy. Certain important proposals will be made to the Government in conjunction with the other leading banks.
