Blenheim, ThursdayThe trial of Edward Tarrant, who > is charged with the murder. at Pic- [ ton, on November3, 1931, of James j * Flood, an old man, was continued in j f the Supreme Court to-day, before | Mr. Justice Blair. The evidence followed closely on : the lines of that given in the Lower : j Court. It;was tedious and technical, again traversing transactions by tradesmeri with accused, the eashing of notes similar to those alleged to have heen stolen from Flood, and the I amounts paid to accused for work i done. The. Crown's object was to prove ! aecused's sudden accession to wealth i after the murder of Flood. A number j of witnesses of this class will be called, after wbich the trial will grow in | interest with the evidence of Detec- ; tive Jarrold to work up the case against Tarrant.
