discussion takes place regarding playing hours DRAW FOR SATURDAY At a meeting of the Rotorua Crieket Association held on Manday evening the question of playing hours was raised by Mr. J. Burton, who pointed out an occurrence which happened during the playing of the series completed last Saturday. Mr. Burton brought to the. attention of the management committee the fact that, despite the possibility of the match between City and High School A being completed within the playing time stipulated, the game had been abandoned 30 minutes before that time by the consent of the City captain and a High School player. The position at 6 o'clock was that City still required 72 runs in their second innings to reach the High School first innings total of 273 runs, with six wickets in hand, and he considered that as the light was good the game should have been continued to 6.30 o'clock in order to give High School A its chance for an outright win. After considerable discussion it was decided that in future should any match be stopped before the stipulated time, except with the consent of the umpires on account of bad light or other reasons, points would not be awarded to either team. The draw for the series commencing next Saturday was as follows: — Albion v. High School B, High School No. 2. City v. "Ngongotaha, Government Grounds. High School A v. Old Boys, High School No. 1.
