NO PAYMENTS
husband ordered to pay up maintenance forthwith A sequel to the Head maintenanee case heard in Rotorua some months ag'o came before. Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., yesterday when Mervyn Head was charged with the disobedience of of an order made against him for the maintenanee of his wife. Under examination by Mr. R. A. Potter he declared that he had money owing to him by the man he had been working for and had been informed that it had been paid into court. Owing to rows he had lost his sharemilking joh with Mr. Rhodes and had been unable to get other permanent work on farms. He denied that he had made up his mind not to pay anything to his wife, or that he had been running around with a Maori woman; neither was she known as Mrs. Head. While out of work his mother had kept him in food. He considered his wife was misconducting herself and called his mother to give evidence on his behalf. After briefly describing the wife's actions the witness was stopped, Mr. Paterson saying he did not wish to hear anything more. The fact remained that the order made had not been complied with. Head would be called upon to pay up arrears and current instalments forthwith, in default 21 days' imprisonment.
