Wellingtqn, Monday. A meeting at which the Wellington Chamber of Associated Chambers of Commerce, the New Z'ealand Harbours' Association, and the Wellington Harbour Board, the United Kingdoin Manufacturers, and New Zealand Representativesc Association, the New Zealand Manufacturers' Association, the Canadiah Manufacturers' Association, the Master Drapers' Association, the 'New Zealand Federation of Master Drapers, the Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemeh's Association, the Electrical Federation, and the Moto-r Trades' Association were represented this morning, ' carried the foll'owing resolutjon: — "This meeting strongly protests against any increase in the exchange rate. Even the present'rate is not justified on account of Ihe accumulated funds in London, and any increase will he entirely opposed to letter and spirit of the Uttawa agreement." "The meeting protested against the attempt to force the bariks to increasel the exchange rate. The motion was moved by Mr. Salmond, president of the Importers' Fedehation, the Mayor of Wellington secondin'g it.
