THE WEATHER
The Government meteorolopist issued the following weather report and forecast last nisrht: — General situation: A moderate anticyclone now covers New Zealand with its centre over the northern portion; an extensive -depression is located over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds westerly to northerly, moderate generaily, but freshening irr and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Fair, warm and hazy for the most part, but some showers about Foveaux Strait and later conditions becoming unsettled in districts with a westerly aspect. Following are the barometer, rnaxirrrum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Governmeht Observatiop Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
