THE WEATHER
The Govftrnment meteorolofllst issued the following weather repbrt and forecast last niffht: — General situation: An anti-cyclone still covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, while a shallow .depression has bee'n forming over south.western , Australia. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable witH-southerlies predominating at first, but shortly winds tending northerly. Weather: A continuance of fine weather may be expected; temperatures becoming warmer; later, however, haze and cloud increasing generaliy. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum therrpometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings rec'orded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 39-174ins. Thermometer (max.) 68.9deg. Thermometer (min.) .... 43.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 32.5deg. Rainfall .... 0.15ins. Bright Sunshine 2.4hrs.
