MAJESTIC THEATRE
TO-NIGHT. Laying bare the soul of a people, the great human doeument, "Symyhony of Six Millions," paints in direet, sure strokes, the lives of the simple men and women who inhabit New York's teaming Ghetto. Ricardo Cortez and Irene Dunne head the featured cast which brings this film version of Fannie Hurst's deeply human story to the Majestic Theatre to-night- v An epic in which poignant heart trobs vie with rich human comedy and an idealistic romance, the story concerns a young Jewish boy who overcomes the push-cart peddlers, — and pants-presser environment of the East Side to become a great surgeon. With the gift of healing in his grasp, he is torn between what he considers to be his duty to his people and what he feels he owes to his own family. Emphasizing the emotional appeal of the production is a symphonic musical accompaniment. The symphony, composed especially for the picture by Max Steiner, head o'f the RKORadio Pictures' music department, underscores the action from the first scene to the last, interpreting moods in melody.
