WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The following ladies were appointed to the committee of the Opotiki Women's Institute on Saturday night: — Mrs. J. Cooper, president; Mesdames D. McDiarmid, G. Murray, C. J. Fox, A. Stephenson, J. Maine, Mansell, J. Steptoe, R. Hedley, S. Abbot, P. Clarlc, J. Russell, E. Burton, Miss B. Kelly and Miss M. Sydenham. A competition was won by Mrs. Hedley and Mrs. Hambly came second. Miss Emma Bridge carried off the prize for the best decorated table with a really beautiful display of carnations and asparagus ferns. Mrs. P. Quirk was judge.
