TO-NIGHT. . The role of "Max," the head waiter m Paramount's "Service for Ladies," might have been speeially written for Leslie Howard. _ The role calls for polished sophisticated love-making in the modern vein, and there is probably no one on the screen to-day so adept to portraying the self-assured sophisticated lover than Leslie Howard. He has earned for himself the reputation of being considered the masculine counterpart of Marlene Dietrich, in that they both have the same cool devastating methods of making love on the screen. His role in the new British production is even more suitable as a medium for his particular talents. Howard is now one of th'e idols of Broadway^ a position he has won through his brilliant acting abilities, which took New York by storm when they first saw him. In "Service for Ladies, which opens at the Majestic Theatre to-night, he is supported by a strong cast of stage and screen stars, including Elizabeth Alton; George Grossmith and Benita ' Hume. ;
