PROPOSAL TO OBTAIN REVALUATION OF LAND ROTORUA COUNTY VIEWS A letter from Waitotara County Council inviting the Rotorua County Council to co-operate in an endeavour to secure an amendment of the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, to provide for a revaluation of farm landsby way of classification was receivpd at a meeting of the council yesterday. Councillors were generally of the opinion that the time was not ripe for support of the proposal, the chairmhn, Mr. H. P. Ford, pointing out that at the present time the charges for revaluation were so high that the farmer who was financially pressed, and who really required the revaluation could not alford it at the existing fee of £5 5s. It was decided to reply that the council could not support the proposal, as special cases were already provided for under the provisions of the Act.
