WKECKED ON MAIDEN VOYAGE

('Rec. Midmght.) Bila, Sumatra, Nov. 9. A message states that the Melan- j esian -Mission's new steamer, the Southern- Cross, which left Auckland New Zealand, on her maidisn voyage on October 25, was totally wrecked on a reef. Details are not at present available but will be forwarded tomorrow by the correspondent.
