GIRLS INGENUITY
NOVEL SYSTEM OF SUITCASE PACKING EV0L7ED. AVOIDING CREASED CLOTHES. We were istting in the hotel lounge when she arrived — a smart little woj man with only a suitcase for luggage. Yet morning after morning, evening after evening, during her stay, sh'e appeared in a different toilet, each as crisp and fresh as if it had emerge from an immense wardrohe trunk. I Toward the end of her visit we became friendly with her, and then we ventured to express admiration of her I comprehensive store of raiment and I wonder at the magic qualities of her
suitcase, says an English writer. "It is my special system of packing that accounts for the miracle," she laughed. "You see, every frock is put in neatly folded, with tissue paper between the folds, just as if it were being-packed into a dressmakei s cardboard box. Between the frocks, other layers of the same thin paper are laid. This enables me' to withdraw one gown at a time without disturbing the rest, and so I never un- , pack. The dresses, as I use them, | go into a drawer in by bedroom and remain there until I am about to depart, when they are re-packed in the same way. The remainder, with tissue ; pap-er to keep them in good order, , are not disturbed until the time comes for them to be worn. As they are all of the thinnest silk, or of equally thin . laoe or georgette, a gerat many will \ go into the smallest space, and the closer they are packed to hegin with', the less risk of ereasing. I advise you to follow my plan, and never un,pack on arrival. Since then I have followed the advice and it has worked admirahly. Not only does it dispose of the problem of coping with inadequate clothes cupboards, hut it prevents delicate frocks and frills from being jumhled together. This method of dealing with the wardrobe while travellin^ is the best I have yet found.
