NEW BUSINESS

MESSRS HEYWOOD AND AMSON OPEN UP AUCTION MART

A new enterprise which promises to fulfil a useful purpose in the business life of Rotorua is the Opening of a produce and general auctioneering mart by Messrs Heywood and Amson. They have secured the premises until recently occupied by Mr. A. G. Cottrell and propose to push their new venture on thoroughly modern lines. For instance they are arranging direct touch with Sydney so that the best in oranges, pineapples and other tropical "fruits can be landed in Rotorua first hand. They intend, also, to establish contact with growers of fruit and produce in all parts of the Dominion. In this connection they will be in a position to do business with 250 produoers, and elients should be able to ouy from them as cheaply as in the markets of large centres. This will-apply equally to the business man and the purely household pux'chaser. Everythiiig customary to a produce

mart will be handled by direct and economic methods and the public should benefit aceordingly. -apart from produce the firm will buy up useful job lines and pass the benefit on to customers at bedrock auction prices. They have also secured the agency for two first-class furniture firms and the very latest in styles and construction will be offered for public competition. Messrs Heywood and Amson are confident that with their 22 years' experience of business in the Auckland province they can meet the requirements of a growing district like Rotorua, and they believe it will be possible to make their mart a big centre of exchange — an excli(ange which should be quite as useful to the community as any established in the bigger centres. Goods have been arriving all the week and it is expected that there will be at least 200 sacks of produce ready to fall beneath the hammer on Saturday.* ; |j
