Rec. Nov. 7, 7.55 p.m. Adelaide, Novemebr 7. The wicket for the continuation of the match between South Australia and England, became faster under the tinge of summer. The attendanee was 8000, Richardson gave a superlative display, being forcible against all bowlers. His on-side play was particularly accurate. His innings was a bright speck in an uphill fight. He was dismissed by Leyland, who made a particularly smart catch at mid-on. The captain was batting 235 minutes and hit 17 fours. England's fielding was alert, Bowes, bowling fast, bumped high. South Australia's hopes finished early, but Grimmett renewed interest by twice square cutting Wyatt to the boundary in his first over, and had reached 17 when he was smartly snapped up by Ames, whose wicket keeping was masterly. Larwood did not bowl to-day. The innings lasted 269 minutes. South Australia will follow on: —
