GRAND THEATRE

TC-NIGHT. Kay Francis, Lilyan Tashman, Joel McCrea and Eugene Pallette play the leading roles in the comedy drama, "Girls About Town," coming to the Grand Theatre to-night. "Girls About Town" is a human, amusing and often dramatic story of two beautiful, gorgeously gowned girls who ride in limousines without having to pay the chauffeurs. In short they are slightly addicted to gold-dig-ging, although one would never think of accusing them of being the heartless type. Far from it. For when one of the girls falls deeply in love — well, you know what happens to a girl in love. And Kay Francis is no exception. However, when • Joel McCrea, the man she loves, learns more than he should about Kay (and most of it isn't true), dramatic interest is built to a convincing degree, carrying through to a climax that is believable and amusing. Incidentally it is none other than Lilyan Tashman who helps Kay I launch a love campaign that eventual- ! ly brings happiness into Kay's life. "j Eugene Pallette, that fine comedian, contributes many hearty laughs as a j tight wad millionaire who is always • playing practical jokes. But he has a practical joke played on him when his militant wife (Lueile Webster Gleason), enlists the services of Lilyan ! Tashman in an effort to make him i spend some of his fortune. Needless ! to say, Lilyan is equal to the occasion.
