Rec. Nov. 6, 6.30 p.m. Washington, Nov. 5. A report to the Commerce Department from the Consul at Hamburg indicates that Germany will probably soon import up to 20,000,000 bushels of Ameriean maize. The means of financing is not revealed. There* is a possibility that the reconstructed Finance Corporation will handle it, although some consider Germany's finaileial situation is such that it may pay cash. The reason for the purchase is thd low price of Ameriean grain, which makes competitidn by the Argentine not possihle.
